Hi Designers, welcome to Thudio Installation Guide! In this article, we will guide you how to install the latest version of Thudio. This article will be split into 2 sections, each will cover the installation guide for new users and existing users.
A. New Users Installation
First time Installing Thudio or any Sketchup Plugin? Rest assured we will guide you step by step. Follow this simple steps bellow:
1. Make sure you have downloaded Thudio Installer via www.thudio.com
- A1. Open www.thudio.com
- A2. Fill in your email then click or click the one on the right above.
- A3. You will be directed to a new page. Fill in the data and click Download Thudio.
- A4. The Thudio installer will be auto-downloaded to your device.
- Do not double-click the .rbz file in the windows explorer, Thudio is to be installed on your Sketchup
2. Open your latest Sketchup program (Windows/Mac)
3. Click the Windows tab > Extension Manager (Windows) or Extensions> Extension Manager (Mac)
4. Click Install Extension (in the bottom left) and select the Thudio.rbz file.

- Thudio will then appear on the list on extension manager when successfully installed
- Close the Extension Manager window
5. Open Thudio in the Extensions tab> Thudio.
- Thudio windows will then appear and you’re ready to design!

B. Existing Users- Update to the latest version
If you're using SOMA/Thudio version 1.4 or older, you'll be asked to update to the latest version. To update, you can use either 1) Auto-update or 2) Manually re-install Thudio

Auto-update
- When a new update is available, you will see the Auto-update window the next time you open your Thudio
- Click Auto-Update to initiate the update, make sure you have saved your works beforehand.
- If the update is successful, restart your Sketchup to apply the changes.
- If the auto-update is not done within 15 minutes, you can close it and try manual update (refer to poin 2: Manual Update)

Manual Update

Uninstall the older version of your Thudio extension.
- Click the Windows tab > Extension Manager on the Menu Bar in SketchUp.
- Select the Manage tab.
- Select Thudio and click uninstall.
- Thudio will then be removed from extension manager list.

Restart your SketchUp
- This in an important step to make sure the new version installation went well.

Re-install Thudio following the steps for A. New Users Installation (point A).
- Make sure you have downloaded Thudio Installer via www.thudio.com
- Open your latest Sketchup program (Windows/Mac)
- Click the Windows tab > Extension Manager

Click Install Extension (in the bottom left) and select the Thudio.rbz file.
- Thudio will then appear on the list on extension manager when successfully installed
- Close the Extension Manager window

Open Thudio in the Extensions tab> Thudio.
- Thudio windows will then appear in your viewport and you’re ready to design!

Uninstall the older version of your Thudio extension.
